Hollie Kenney, Head Coach/Owner
Head Coach for Gold Stars Swimming and Lessons here in Steiner Ranch serving swimmers from ages 2 to 102 years old. She was featured in 2011 as one of the Top Ten Fittest in Austin Fit Magazine. Hollie is a 27 time All American, former Professional Triathlete, 7 time Ironman finisher, which includes 2 podium finishes at the Ironman Hawaii World Championships, a top 5 at Ironman Lake Placid and winner of over five dozen triathlons world wide. She holds 2 of the top 8 fastest Master swimming times for the 1650 and an overall winner for the 4 x 800 mixed free relay. Along with coaching competitive/fitness swimming programs for the last 28 years, she has been teaching kids of all ages how to swim for over 35 years and is very excited to continue serving in Steiner Ranch and the Four Points area.

Coach Avani

We are thrilled Coach Avani re-joins Gold Stars for her second year. She taught a variety of programs including Developmental Swim and Swim Boot Camp as well as her niche of teaching private lessons last year and had quite the following. Prior, she taught swimming with the Special Olympics athletes, where she found her passion. Coach Avani comes from an extensive personal swim background. She swim competitively for over 10 years at the State and National level. She loves kids (and it's clear to all of us) and is thrilled to be able to continue this time to teach kids about her passion.

Coach Lauren

Lauren has been giving lessons for 9 years for Gold Stars Swimming. Think along the lines of teaching hundred of kiddos. Additionally, she taught Developmental Swim, Group Lessons and Swim Bootcamp. She comes with experience swimming on Steiner Stars swim team in her youth and many years working with younger kids. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2015 where she studied International Relations and kept her passion of teaching kids how to be safe in the water.

Coach Hannah

Hannah is CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and has been working with kids since she was 14 years old, swim lessons at 15 years old, and started swim coaching 5 years ago. Having worked with all ages, she began coaching/lessons at Nitro Swimming as well as swam on the National group there preceding her college swim career. After coaching at Nitro, Hannah coached at Longhorn Aquatics, Austin Trinity Aquatic Club, and Gold Stars Swimming. "I find so much joy from teaching others the art of the water!" says Hannah.

Coach Catherine

Catherine is an alumna of Texas State University. She swam competitively for 6 years and have taught swim lessons, group and individual instruction for close to 4 years. Catherine has worked with a wide range of children from ages 12 months - 16 years, from beginning stages in the pool to competitive strokes and diving. She enjoys being able to facilitate the growth of young people. Catherine has been teaching with Gold Stars Swimming since 2015 and she couldn't be happier to continue to instruct, lead and make a positive impact on her students, sharing her love of the sport of swimming.

Coach Christina 

Christina has been swimming competitively for 12.5 years now. She is a Nitro National Group alum and a current member of the Division 1 University of San Diego's swim team. Christina loves the sport of swimming, and finds so much joy in helping others realize a love for the water as well.  This will be Christina’s second season with Gold Stars Swimming.

Coach Diana

Diana has been on the Gold Stars team for 3 years. With her experience working with kids in the school district in Round Rock, Texas and the Early Childhood Intervention Program for Bluebonnet Trails here in the Leander school district as well as coaching for USMS Swimming, we are thrilled to have such diversity.  Diana has done an excellent job earning numerous swim coaching certifications. She herself has been swimming since she was 5 years old and is excited to be working with all ages and levels for Gold Stars Swimming. Habla con fluidez español.

Coach Lindsey

Lindsey joined Gold Stars with her many years of experience teaching swimming at the YMCA and as a teacher at School in the Hills. Coach Lindsey is known for her patience, and abilities to connect to children of all levels. Her art classes are super popular and we expect the same with her swim lessons.

Coach Chuck

Chuck is a current Longhorn Aquatics Masters team swimmer.   He has been a USMS swimmer for 15 years. Up to speed on latest stroke technique, rules, drills. Father to 2 boys, both swimmers;  one son was Westwood High School swim team captain, the other son was NCAA  “All American”.

Chuck comes with “Parental wisdom" with regard to NCAA college swimming, athletic scholarships, college programs. Chuck is excited to be a part of Gold Stars Swimming and teach other young athletes.
